Alex Miller was awarded the
STUC One Workplace Equal Rights project
Equality Award.

He is seen here receiving his award from Harriot Harman MP and Graeme Smith STUC General Secretary.

Alex won the award for his work in the Union in Scotland on issues & initiatives, including:

Unions into Schools;
Maternity Policy;
Welfare Pod for Dignified Facilities at Incidents;
Access in FRS Premises for Disabled persons; and
Improvements to Flexible Working for Staff with Care Responsibilities.

During the STUC in Perth a short video was shown of the STUC delegation to Israel and Palestine.

FBU Scotland, Regional Secretary, Ken Ross was part of the delegation and the resulting video can be seen here:

The STUC debated and agreed a motion calling for Boycott,
Dis-investment and Sanctions on Israel and Israeli goods until they comply with UN resolutions.
