Colombian Delegation

On Tuesday 20th conference was addressed by 2 Colombian firefighters and the problems experienced by Trade Unionists working in Colombia - including abduction, torture and murder - were highlighted. See video

The Scottish Region had organised a quiz night for the Tuseday and it was decided that any moneys raised would be put towards the Colombian trade unionists both directly and through the Justice for Colombia campaign.

On the night a good selection of teams represented many of the regions of the FBU and with a raffle and auction running a total of £1250 was raised. This was followed by various pledges from around the country to contribute with the final total sitting at £10,000.

Once again the FBU can be proud of its efforts to support international trade unionism.
