The
Fire Brigades Union were delighted when First Minister,
Alex Salmond agreed to officially open the new fire
station at North Anderson Drive, Aberdeen.
Unfortunately in a provocative
move, the Fire Brigades Union were not invited by Grampian
FRS to attend the ceremony. We were however able to
accommodate Mr Salmond’s request to meet officials
afterwards to discuss other current issues. |
Firefighters from retained units across the Orkney
Islands recently attended a meeting with FBU Officials. RDS
members from accross the islands have joined the FBU in large
numbers

27th March was attended by guest speaker, Margaret
Curran MSP.
A number of issues were discussed during
a very positive question and answer session.
Margaret was presented with a momento of
her visit and is seen here with the Scottish Regional
Executive.
